Maui Surfing- Group Lessons
Our surf lessons take place at Kalama Park, known as ‘The Cove’ in Kihei, Maui. This location is renowned as the best spot for learning to surf in Maui, and perhaps even in the world. The beaches and waters here offer semi-shallow depths and gently breaking waves, with an average year-round water temperature of 79°. It’s truly an awesome place to learn. Rest assured, we have full permission from the Maui County Parks Department to conduct our lessons.
Each lesson lasts for 2 hours and includes all the necessary equipment for riding the waves. Additionally, we provide a professional photographer who can capture proof of your newfound surfing skills. While photo packages are sold separately, we offer them at a very fair price. We take immense pride in our surf lessons and ensure that everyone learns the proper technique of popping up directly onto their feet. We do not teach the knee slide pop-up. Our dedicated instructors genuinely want you to succeed in learning to surf.
Regardless of your age or athletic ability, we guarantee that you will be surfing after just one lesson!
Our classes are scheduled at 8 am and 10:00 am in the mornings, every day except Sundays. It’s important to reserve your spot in advance, as classes fill up quickly. Due to strong trade winds in the afternoons, our schedule is limited during that time. The best time to surf in Hawaii is early in the morning when you can enjoy clean sets and beautiful skies. We can’t wait to teach you and assure you that you will be surfing by the end of your first lesson! Each of our professional instructors is certified in CPR and First Aid, making them the best on the island.
