Visiting the Isaak Art Center – A must visit Museum and Gallery in the heart of Waimea
If there ever was a worthwhile place to visit that also serves a higher cause, it’s the Isaak Art Center – a combined museum and gallery space in Waimea. Not only is it a fantastic museum space featuring Pacific island artifacts, art and historic treasures but it also serves as a gallery with beautiful finds that you can actually purchase and support the local Hawaii preparatory School Academy in Waimea. The center fosters art appreciation and extends that in the schools and community it supports through the HPA scholarship fund.
Why visit the Isaak Art Center in Waimea?
What’s fun to explore at the center is all the beautiful art collections, furniture and revolving art show, and showcasing the beautiful craftsmanship and artistry of local Hawaii artists along with the center’s own art collections, many of these are for sale to art admirers and the proceeds benefits the Hawaii Preparatory Academy with scholarships, art programs and other support to the local community. The mission of the organization is to raise money for the benefit of HPA students and scholarships along with benefiting the community with art, culture and learning experiences through arts education and appreciation of local artists and professionals. This building was used originally as Waimea’s first public school and built in 1915. It was moved in June 2002 and placed on the State Register of Historic Places and eventually in the National register of Historic places in 2005.
The Isaak Art Center is such a fantastic organization that spreads art, education and programs that benefits the entire community.
It’s definitely a wonderful place to visit, if not for seeing all amazing fine art, furniture and collections in person and in such a beautiful space that has a nice flow and energy to visiting.
